Welcome to Appledore House Bed & Breakfast! Home from home.
Our home was built in 2005 so is new, clean and extremely well insulated. We have a double or twin bedroom and a single bedroom, sharing a modern bathroom.
We are less than 10 miles away from Stansted Airport and far enough away to not be affected by the aircraft noise. We are located in the pretty market village of Sawbridgeworth, with easy access to Bishop's Stortford (4 miles) and Harlow (4 miles). We also have easy access to the M11, Cambridge and London. Canary Wharf is just 28 miles drive down the M11 and Cambridge 31 miles away up the M11. However, the railway is only 15 minutes stroll away and gives you direct access to Stansted Airport, Cambridge and London Liverpool Street or Tottenham Hale.
We have fantastic views of the countryside and the sunsets over the fields. There are wonderful walks through the fields, along the riversides and across Pishiobury Park which was designed by Capability Brown.
Sawbridgeworth regularly hosts a Farmers Market and has its own post office, banks, library, award winning Dorrington's bakery and Simon Dennis's butchers. We also have very good restaurants just 5 minutes walk from our home - Peking Palace, Star of India and Goose Fat and Garlic to name just three.
Further afar we have other attractions such as Central London, the West End and its theatres, Bluewater and Lakeside shopping centres, Jamie Oliver's family pub restaurant at Clavering, Saffron Walden, nostalgic towns of Hertford and Ware and Freeport outlet village at Braintree.
And if that wasn't enough, you will have home made bread and free range eggs for your breakfast!

SINGLE LADIES HOLIDAYS - We have looked after several single ladies who have given us fantastic feedback. We understand how daunting it can be staying in a strange place and travelling on your own. You really will feel looked after and very safe here! Julie can also be your Buddy to accompany you on any trip. Cost £15 per hour plus expenses.
ITINERARY PLANNING - We are happy to plan your itinerary for you so that the hard work is done for you. We can find out bus/train and journey details for you and we can also suggest places to visit. Just let us know what your plans are 5 days in advance.
